Bay Area Shih Tzu Rescue
GGSTF member Loree Levy-Schwartz coordinates Shih Tzu rescue in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA. She has been rescuing Shih Tzu since 1978.
Bay Area Shih Tzu Rescue is run solely by volunteers. They rescue between 75 and 115 Shih Tzu per year. The Golden Gate Shih Tzu Fanciers donate monthly in order to help with expenses for these rescue services.
All rescued Shih Tzu are seen by a licensed Veterinarian. They are examined, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dentals are done when needed, groomed and wormed. In addition to those rescued Shih Tzu who need only the above, she also accepts some medically challended dogs as well as senior dogs. These animals are then available for adoption. Some of the Shih Tzu available can be seen at www.petfinder.com under the rescue group name: Toy Breed Rescue.
